TORONTO -- "Corner Gas" ended its celebrated six-year run Monday with a plot that saw humble hero Brent Leroy reaffirm his small-town roots and cleverly riffed off series creator Brent Butt's own rise to TV sitcom stardom.

It wasn't cancelled, and it was an excellent show. You must have bad taste in TV.

It was stupid show with a stupid sense of 'comedy'.

Never watched it, never cared, never understood the hype.

I live in a small prairie town, life is nothing like that show portrays. Finally it's cancelled.

I thought it was a great show.

I dont know what that towns like but we have plenty in Alberta that are just like "dog river".

Keep your opinion to yourself then. A lot of people liked the show. Let me know what shows you like so I can demand they cancel the ones I dislike.

I meant I don't choose to watch it.

I've watched an episode here and there when I'm at someone else's home. I just don't like the show.

And now...Dog River, in no way is representative of life in small prairie towns. First of all, it would be very rare to have a native constable for the local RCMP. Its terrible I know, but anti-native sentiment is still rampant in the rural areas. Life here is mostly dominated by the church functions, farmer related functions, socials (manitoba word - means dance + drinking), and bored teenagers sick of being stuck in these small towns so they walk around aimlessly committing crimes, doing drugs, and partying every weekend.

Dont they all have the same DNA there?

Working around Alberta's small towns I noticed there was allways a restaraunt/cafe where the locals would congregate, just like on corner gas.
Same for the rest of the show, they got it pretty well bang on as far as Alberta prarie towns go.
