What design? Was creativity requred to put a red maple leaf on a white shirt?

I think the design refers to the graphics within the maple leaf. You can't see it in the photo.

since when does everything Canadian on the international scene have to have something to do with the natives?

Can you provide a picture or do I have to drink the red kool-aid to see it?

I think the red Kool-aid would be preferable.

A large red Maple Leaf, embossed with artwork, adorns the front of the jersey, replacing the previous Hockey Canada logo of a player skating through a black and red Maple Leaf.

You can see the graphics in the photo in the article. I have to admit I didn't see it at first either (red on red doesn't help). Not sure how anyone is suppose to see that on TV, even in HD.

Perhaps there is more than meets the eye.

That is something I am wondering too... Is Canada JUST natives? Is Canadian Art JUST Native's art?
That is the message sent now...

exactly... I could see if it was a lacrosse jersey or another associated with natives sport (paddling/kayak etc)

but as hockey comes from around Windsor Nova Scotia and has a huge history in Euro-english and french canada, what's the deal?

it's a decent design, but doesn't speak to me at all... all I need is the LEAF
