Better punishment than a jail in Canada but a trial would have been good.

Well, he saved the Crown and District attorneys' offices a pile of work; at least that's commendable.

A few lawyers are also out a bit of money. :)

While I commend Mr. Jenkins sound judgement and willingess to do the right thing in the face of adversity, I too would have liked to have seen a trial.

Oh well I guess I'll just have to wait for the made for TV movie to find out what really happened.

I truly feel for all the family members and friends of both, who will continue to suffer for years to come. Given all the circumstances, this is, in my opinion, the best outcome for the situation. Healing can begin sooner, rather than later, after a 'media circus trial', and a bogus sentence.

Certainly the US taxpayer is better off. If we had returned him to the US it would have been with a no-death penalty proviso. He would have spent 40 years in prison there.

Chop off his fingers, smash his teeth out, stuff him in a bag and drop him somewhere in the middle of the rockies for the animals to feast on and then forget he ever existed.

A most satisfying conclusion to the story.
Delicious irony in being done in by the very same tits he coveted. 8)

    Aw c'mon RR.

If rabid, blind, partisan hacks and lawyers can have friends, so should sadistic murdering cowards.

    Birds of a feather perhaps?
Remember that both his parents were getting all lawyered up and hunting for him and I can't imagine they'd give up on him if they found him. That begs the question then of who did find him.
