VANCOUVER, B.C. - Environmentalists are fuming after learning the federal government has given permission to a U.S. research ship to begin controversial seismic testing in Canadian waters, despite an ongoing court challenge.

    It's just a research ship. I'm not concerned.



    But then I probably have more faith in the US than most here.

    The research is being done because of the danger of an Indonesia-size tsunami event that would affect both BC and Washington. Sorry about the whales, but I place a higher value on preventing loss of human life. Besides, the legal fight is irrelevant to the US research ship as it has proper authorization to do what it is doing.
