It was a unique decision and obviously controversial, but it was effective, said Megan Baillie, executive director of South Fraser Community Services, which runs the 24-hour homeless shelter adjoining the manure-laced lot. That's the quietest I've seen the street in some time.

In that sense, it did have a positive effect, and it was the bird manure that did it.

Sounds to me it was effective but ran aFOWL of liberal sensibilities.

Still better then spraying them with this:

Israelis invent stink bomb for riot control
    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world ... 46665.html

The ever-ingenious inventors at Israel's weapons research and development directorate have created a schoolboy's dream: the ultimate stink bomb, with a disgusting smell that lingers in its victim's clothing for up to five years.

The foul-smelling liquid squirted by angry or frightened skunks at their victims was analysed by Israeli defence scientists and a synthetic version created for use in a weapon they call the "skunk bomb". Fired with great care, and from a respectable range, it is designed to force civilian protesters to disperse. Security forces would not be keen to arrest the victims, and they would be equally unwelcome at home......

^ Just drive by in a squad car, spray the lot of em and keep on going.

And I don't know about you, but I would have tossed out my clothes that same day, rather then hang onto to them for 5 years.

Agreed.... however once I go homeless, that'll be the moment I say screw it and go live in the forest... i'd probably have a better quality of life then living on the streets, eating old pizza crust from trash cans and having pitty sex from low end prostitutes who are also down on their luck and need lots of pizza crusts.
