An Oak Bay mother says she's not happy with B.C. Transit's response to a recent incident where she and her 20-month-old daughter were forced off a bus by the driver because the child was making too much noise.

YOUR kid is YOUR responsibility. The safety and well being of the passengers is the driver's responsibility.

It seems like the bus driver lived up to his responsibilities and yet again a parent is unable to and the blame goes elsewhere.

    Bravo to the bus driver.

Its just interesting that when other distractions go down on a bus they are cool with it, but when a child cries they cant concentrate.

Kid musta been screaming pretty loud to get a driver to do that. 8O

And the PC gang wouldn't allow the mother to discipline the child anyway,
    cause that's abuse.

    lose lose all around.

Its his bus, the passengers are his responsibility. If he feels he cant operate the bus in a safe fashion them the brakes.

It just seems to me that some sort of standard has to be in place, as I see it right now they have the ability to kick anyone off the bus they dont like.

Not any further. It has ended. She got kicked off, excuses and free passes were offered, busdriver was asked wtf was going on, end of story.

I dont think it will go anywhere really; the woman probably doesnt have the time or money to pursue the matter. The driver will be talked to, so that it doesnt become a constant problem in the future. The story will go stagnant until something similar happens again.

You obviously don't have children. If you think you can control when or where a 2 year old cries you're living in a dream world and I pity your future children.

I could see if the kid was moving around on the bus or somehow creating a physical hazard by kicking or something but crying? That's just a bunch of crap. Sounds like the driver was having a bad day and decided to pull a power trip by booting a woman and her kid off the bus for a bs reason.

This happened somewhere else in Canada recently. Don't remember where. I recall the bus driver called dispatch for advice and was told to park the bus and have everyone get out and wait for the next one.
