Defenceman Shane O'Brien, who has appeared in 15 games this season, was suspended one game by the NHL on Thursday.

O'Brien deserved it IMO. Just went too far in what should have been a shouting match.

Not that I give a rat's ass about the Canucks but the NHL did the opposite of what's right as usual. Anyone who lays the lumber on Sean Avery, even if it's just a gay little poke with the butt end of the stick, should be given $10000 by the league, not fined.
