French has faded because your 3 million francophones surrounded by 300 million anglo's!

you will loose this fight, you can't legislate a culture, though you sure do try!

I think if were talking about publicly funded daycare, thus an extension of public schools, that would be one thing. But as far as I know, most people have to pay good money for daycare, so they can send their kid to any daycare centre they damn well please.

I'm starting to wonder, who has lost the most credibility, the PQ language police, Paul Watson and the Sea Shepherd society or Pam Anderson and PETA.

If a language needs this kind of laws to survive, it doesn't deserve it.

I disagree. The government of Canada is bilingual. Public services should, in any case, be both english and french. This is discrimination against anglophones plain and simple. Excluding english private schools or daycares is more acceptable but that's not saying much.

God when when the French Canadians just stfu already. If the French language is dissapearing in Montreal, that's too fucking bad but that's the choice of the individuals there. If they choose to speak English as this is a joint English and French speaking country. That's there buisness but to shove shit down people's throats? Thats fucking sad.

Just remove all French Quebecers rights to speak French, remove everything they have been whining and complaining about for the last 50 years and problem solved right there. We can go back to being all English Speaking Citizens and have no more whining franciphones breathing down our neck. All we have to worry about and mooching off of us is Aboriginals.

I do support your right to "save" your culture.

    But Fuck....

When one basically needs to be bi-fucking-lingual, to get a government job these days, especially anywhere in Ottawa. Then the damn kids should learn english.
    After all it is Canada.....

Put you self-centeredness to the side, and think about how this will help your kids in the future.

    Fucking bigots, enough already.

Just get it over with and pass a law banning english period if you want french speaking anglophones out your fucking province so badly.

The Government of Canada may be bilingual, but the Gouvernement du Qubec is not. Neither are any of the other provincial governments, with the exception of New Brunswick.

As for the daycare, it is not necessarily public. It is mostly private, which is why I said that if people are going to pay good money for daycare, they can choose which daycare they want their kid to go to: English or French.

Public services and schooling are available in English all over Quebec for Quebec's anglophone community, for anglophones. Immigrants whom Qubec has nominated and welcomed need to learn French. End of story. They may have immigrated to Canada, but they have immigrated to French Canada and so must participate in French Canadian customs like going to French school etc... If they wanted to speak English, they should have gone to Toronto.

Getting a government job should not be the ultimate goal for your children. And the fact that 'after all... it's Canada', is not a reason to learn English as long as it has never seemed to be a reason for most Anglos to learn French.
