Senior government officials say there was a colossal error at the mint itself,"

Trustworthy senior government officials, like Dingwald..

I feel so much better now. :-(

So Bonuses were withheld.. No that they see the Mint was at fault by error. The Boneheads in Ottawa will most likely still pay out the bonuses even thou the mint DID NOT do thier jobs properly..

Wait..... an audit would not "rectify the problem" is that what the RCMP just did.

So, instead of following standard inventory review procedures, which would have caught the errors, they opt to audit, which cost us $360,000.00! Somebody's head should roll over this one, and no bonuses should be paid for that fiscal year, until the 360 thousand for the unnecessary audit is made up. That would restore confidence in the mint operation again. At least somewhat.

    Queen of distraction?

Junior Transport Minister Rob Merrifield, who's responsible for the mint, called in the RCMP on June 9 after he learned that an audit would not "rectify the problem" of the missing gold. That's about 10 weeks after the government first learned of the missing gold.

Looks to me that Conservative MP Rob Merrifield is the guy responsible here not David Dingwall.

Of course it would be so unlike you or the Cons to blame somebody else wouldn't it.

The gold was gone way before that.

The only way they could take it out was in the barrels of acid and that would be slow and a number of people would have to be involved. To do that, you'd need someone quite high up to be pulling the strings...

Yet another example of the Cons blaming everybody else for their cock-ups.

I don't see how anyone can blame this on a pollitical party, plain and simple stupid error on the mints operations staff, they should be fired (incompetance) and hire someone else to do the job
