The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has issued a new airworthiness directive for the type of helicopter used to ferry workers to Newfoundland and Labrador's offshore oil platforms.

I agree with the rationale behind this, but why is the FAA telling companies what they have to do in Canada?

They issued it for the Aircraft not the place it was used, and we follow suit in most cases as doe,s the world .
