I say let's turn the whole operation over to the Russians. They'll have the piracy problem solved in a month.

I have no doubt that the Russians let the pirates go in the middle of the ocean, but it's not like the Russians to waste a good inflatable boat.

I'm suprised the Russian didn't shoot them on the spot and dump the bodies overboard. The only problem with that that is that it can polute the oceans.

What a waste of a good inflatable boat.

This is probably exactly what the Russians did.

The lack of an international court to try pirates means "we'll have to do what our forefathers did when they met the pirates ," Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said before Russian forces stormed the tanker.

    Yeah, walk the plank!

Somali pirate commanders have threatened to harm any Russian citizens they find aboard hijacked ships in revenge for the Russian operation

Well now that you've played your hand, I'm sure the Russians could spare a few "marines" for each Russian freighter that plies those waters.

I'm not. The Russians at least have respect for the International Law of the Sea, that says a professional Navy may never do that to a civilian or merchant vessels crew. The Russians can be cold, but they aren't idiots.

It says the Somalis must be released unharmed. It doesn't say how close to shore they need to be released.

I don't know is our little navy doing anything more important then lounging around the Adriatic?

Google it, or wait around on a forum for someone to spoon feed it to you.

That being said, our Navy doesn't tend to lounge around.
