Minister calls for rape to re-added to the criminal code

Why not just redefine indecent sexual assault as a criminal offense? It's already sufficiently different then sexual assault.

I've thought this a long time. Conflating rape with patting somebody on the butt, calling it all sexual assault just confuses the issue. The butt patter gets labelled a sexual offender and is treated the same as a rapist. But I would say that anal rape or forced fellatio should be in the same category as vaginal rape.

I'm pretty sure you have to jam something into something to get Indecent Sexual assault, a crime with a maximum penalty of 10 years.

Ordinary Sexual Assault pretty much tops out around a kiss and a grope and it's worth a maximum of 2 years.

But then it was a few years ago and I was reading the abridged version of the Law that is the 2004 Policeman's Pocket Book.
