The recent confiscation of a formerly legal firearm has raised questions about how the RCMP inspects imported firearms and has forced a change of national firearms policy.

    Why would anyone WANT a Chinese-made firearms? My friends who are firearms enthusiasts tell me Chinese weapons are more often than not total garbage.

    So something that used to be legal, but is not legal anymore, should be condoned because the item that is illegal was purchased before it became illegal, right?

    I don't have a problem with that, but automatic weapons don't belong in the hands of civilians.

    Actually, the real issue was, the weapons were never physically examined for classification the first time around.
