Karen Weeks and her four children were overcome with emotion on Monday as they took their first steps back into their home after a $100,000 charity makeover.
Three years ago, one of our local churches did a similar thing. The church actually bought a half finished/abandoned house which the previous owners walked away from, and 2 lots here in my village, then did a complete major reno including finishing pouring the basement then developing it, bottom to top. Then they gave it to a widowed mother, and her three kids. They are a really nice family too. ( no, not JW's)
