To celebrate the departure of members of 1 Battalion, Royal 22e R�giment Battle Group (1 R22eR BG), the last Canadian battle group to conduct combat operations on Afghan soil, the military will hold a gathering of nearly 1,400 soldiers Thursday in Valcart

    I have no idea what happened to my image but...

    Of certain importance because it's supposed to be the last Canadian battle group to go to Afghanistan.

    A close family friend who is my son's best friend is leaving on this deployment. He was supposed to go at the same time my son went but his wife, who is type 1 diabetic, was pregnant at the time.

    Let's all have them in our prayers until they return safe and sound.

    Valcartier is from where my Grandad departed for France in 1915. My thoughts are with you soldiers.

    A radio station in Quebec City (Valcartier is just next Quebec City) made a campaign to build a memorial for the troops there. They were selling stickers with a 'camo' background and the word "Merci". Thousands of people bought them to support the project. Last week, they revealed the "Memorial of the Bravery":
