OTTAWA Canada's trade surplus with its largest economic partner fell to the lowest in almost two decades in October, a further sign that the cross-border relationship with America is becoming less critical to the economies of both nations.

I'm not sure if this is good or bad. All I know si that diversifying our market can only be a good thing.

I read the article and it isn't actually bad news. The US is having problems and our dollar has appreciated so you expect some change there. We'll just have to suck it up.

They can't, the USA economy depends from Canadian resources, and Canada needs US money, everything is associated.

I wouldn't say the USA depends on Canadian resources. I can't think of anything other than oil that the USA couldn't produce enough of to meet their needs. They just can't do it as cheaply as other nations.

Idk if it's true but I've heard that every 2 seconds 30 trucks are crossing US -Canada border, it can say something about trade relations.

How would one actually know something like that. That the US has mineral reserves to meet it's needs, albiet at a higher cost. You'd have to have some information about resources, which you don't.
