Me, I hope there is a vote early next eyar. It will have one of three outcomes

Harper majority, increased Harper minority, or decreased Harper minority.

Majority. Pros: Ends the goddamn ceaseless speculation of when the next election will be, and lets people see what Harper does with unfettered power. Cons: 4 years of Harper having unfettered power. Balance: Pro because it just makes things simple.

Increased minority. Pro: Iggy's toast, Liberals get a new leader. Con: More of the same shit we've been living with since '06, Conservatives get to engage in yet a third round of Liberal leader character assassination. Balance: Slight pro because Iggy's floundering.

Decreased minority. Pro: Harper's toast and there's no replacement that will be able to hold that party together, Iggy's bolstered a bit and might be able to make something of the Liberals, Conservatives are reduced in power. Cons: None. Balance: Pro.

    I can't wait.

I hope he keeps delaying the vote. We've had too many of them over the last several years.

The Liberals wont win. And, its not because the voters dont want to vote for them. rather it's the Liberal's inability to change their ways and reform.

Remember, though, that Harper called the last one early.

The current situation is a hopeless stalemate. An election will cause some change and that has to be a good thing.

You mean Harper might possible abide by the fixed term election law that he passed?

Good point, but his whole excuse last time was that he was unable to execute his mandate because of the opposition. He'll at least have to come up with a new excuse next time.

No, it was an excuse (and a pretty flimsy oen at that). Not a valid reason.

The real reason can only be speculated at. Was it to shut down the parliamentary committee looking into in-and-out? Did he see the coming financial crisis and use a snap election to reset the timer? Who knows. Whatever the reason, it was still an about face.

You watch, though. Despite his protestations now, we'll have an election by the end of 2011, and Harper's fingerprints will be all over it.

Those dastardly Liberals, Socialists and Separtists who hold all the power and are forever plotting in secret teleconferences to overthrow this government in an undemocratic coup!

dont be rediculous, that only happens when you threaten to cut off the tax dollar support to their almost bankrupt organizations.

But even then you have to run, tail-between-legs to the GG and beg for a prorogue so she can get you out of your own mess.

That's what I want for Christmas. A third prorogue in as many years. That would be sweet.
