He's lucky to still have his job.

And therein lies the problem, underlining the reason people have lost faith
    with the police.

Mounties in Kelowna, B.C., are attempting damage control while trying to cool the growing anger stemming from an incident where an officer was videotaped kicking a co-operative suspect in the face.

The RCMP are working at the cover-up and whitewash.

Everybody deserves their day in court. Including this police officer. There is no cover up, this incident is being investigated by the Abottsford police.

Investigate what? The evidence is all on the video. Show it to a jury.

The officer is suspended pending the investigation. This media report is wrong.

Even the murderer who killed Ryan Russell in Toronto on Wednesday will get a court date. Or is a cop kicking somebody in the head worse in your mind than a lunatic killing a cop with a snow plow?

This is the way it is Canada Digger-James, every accused gets their day in court.

He should fired before a court has tried him?

For a journalist you cherry-pick your causes that should be dealt with summarily. Or is it just cops that are the focus of your lynch mob style of retribution?

Kelowna RCMP urging calm ahead of rally over alleged police brutality

VANCOUVER Kelowna RCMP is urging the public to remain calm during a planned protest march Sunday after reading blogs that suggested "civil disobedience may erupt" in the Okanagan city.

The march, scheduled for noon, is in response to a recent video that showed Buddy Tavares on his knees allegedly being kicked in the head by a Kelowna RCMP officer.

Apparently extra cops will be on hand to guard the protest. Gee, maybe we'll get another G20 type situation, with cops emulating ocifer kick in the face. Civil disobedience does not merit violence by police, it is by definition peaceful. Haul em off to jail for disruption or whatever, but going ape on them will just make the cops look even worse.

Well before one can be tried in court a charge has to be laid. Why the delay in charging? The cops charge all the time with no evidence and put a person through the Court process. This is standard practice. And no one is ever held accountable.

    Arrested and charged. No investigation.
    No evidence
    Processed and incarcerated
    Lawyer hired by accused
    Bail
    Court again disclosure
Court again trial date. A year in the future.
Charges dropped with a plea bargain.
Nobody in authority is held responsible.

Now the kick in the face is certainly evidence. Why not the same procedure as indicated above?
