EDMONTON - A city woman has admitted to allowing her home to become a "cathouse horror" where starving and mangy feral cats cannibalized kittens in a home coated with urine and feces.
How far does it have to go before someone like this realizes things "simply got out of control." She says she's a "cat lover" but someone who loves cats doesn't let them starve so much that they eat each other.
I should be more understanding though, she probably has a mental illness of some kind, she probably thought she was helping the cats whenever she brought a new one home when in reality she was just doing more damage (to her home, her physical and mental health, and the health of her children).
She should consider herself lucky she's only going to get a fine and a ban on owning cats out of this, she could be charged with child abuse. I know that sounds a little harsh but through her love of taking in these feral cats she inadvertently put the health of her kids at risk (physically and mentally).
A horder was actually my first thought when I read this, except in this case she's hording cats as opposed to people who horde material items. Definitely a case of mental illness.

They think they're helping although obviously they're not.
