Canada�s claim to sovereignty over the Arctic is being undermined by the federal government�s failure to track Northern fisheries and to report catch data to the United Nations, say researchers from the University of British Columbia.

    Maybe our government should focus on stuff like this along with military spending in the Arctic.

    Never mind the fish data get some military bases up there.

    A military presence up there makes the point quite nicely.

    Military is nice and all, but EVERYTHING matters when making a claim. We have to demonstrate that and the evidence suggests that we aren't doing everything we can up there. We can't just show enforcement; we have to show administration.

    Well according to the article we aren't the only ones up to par, so I doubt it'll hurt us that much.
