Would-be thieves in Montreal botched their attempt to steal an ATM Sunday after the front-end loader they used to break into a shopping mall hit a water pipe and was deluged.
omg, people are such f..king morons. How far do you suppose you would get driving a front-end loader down the street at 10 Km/h with a stolen ATM in the bucket? There seems to be no end to people's stupidity, or maybe their desperation.
A quote from the story "I haven't seen anything like that at all," one man told CTV. "It's funny" Funny? Really? You wouldn't have thought it was funny if you owned that bank or a store in the mall next to where this happened, or worse still if you happened to be standing on the opposite side of the wall that this/these assholes went through.
It has happened before I remember one time in my hometown, where a guy who missed his ex gf so much thought it was a good idea to go get her with a thing like that, coming from the Corus property. He crashed about 50 cars and a couple of houses
The thing in the pic here is small, compared to that one. It was 95 tonnes, 4 meters wide, the biggest in Europe The town was called "Shovel city" since. This is 20 years ago, btw.
OH!! And they got married. He got 18 months in jail...

It's easy. Smash your way in, smash the ATM machine, load what you need to in the back of the truck waiting outside.
Happens all the time!
Last Labour Day someone tried something similar with a BC Ferry-just walked aboard and tried to muscle the machine off
