Didn't Health Canada say a few days ago that it was impossible for radiation from Japan to make over the Pacific ?

I don't think anyone would say it was "impossible", maybe highly unlikely....

"Given the thousands of kilometres between Japan and Canada's West Coast, any radioactive material that might be pushed eastward via wind patterns is expected to be dispersed over the ocean long before it reaches Canada," said an update posted on the federal Public Safety website.

Gary Holub says increased radiation levels were expected, and are less than the increase in radiation levels Canadians would see naturally when it rains.

So next time when it rains, tell us it increased too, ok?

Or wait, just STFU at all about this nonsense.

Sorry all....it's not radiation that the detectors are picking up, but it is something equally dangerous to the public good.

You see, prevailing wind was coming from the direction of the Provincial government buildings in Victoria. With the Liberal election of Christy Clark as Premier, there has been an increase in the amount of bullshit coming from Victoria as a result. Radiation and air born bullshit are indistinguishable by all modern radiation detectors.

Health Canada monitoring stations detect 'minuscule' increase in radiation

By Rebekah Funk, The Canadian Press | The Canadian Press Tue, 22 Mar, 2011 1:00 AM EDT.

....VANCOUVER - Health Canada monitoring stations detected a "minuscule" increase in radiation levels along the B.C. coast Monday in the wake of the nuclear crisis in Japan.

Health spokesman Gary Holub said increased radiation levels were expected, and he stressed the increase posed no public health risk in Canada.

"As anticipated, the amount of radiation reaching Canada is so small that it would not pose a health risk to Canadians," Holub said in an email response to queries.

"Health Canadas radiation monitoring stations have detected a minuscule increase in radiation levels along the West Coast of Canada. This increase is a variation less than what we would see naturally when it rains."

Health Canada installed nine additional monitoring stations along the Pacific coast late last week, as public concerns persisted about possible radioactive drift from Japan making it thousands of kilometres across the ocean to North America.

Some nervous Canadians were trying to track down their own equipment to assess the threat.

No, not Health Canada, not anybody, ever said anything like that. Nobody would say something like that anyway because of course it is possible and everyone knows that. Nothing can stand in the way of the jet stream. What was said was that any radiation that might make it here would be negligible. Which it did, and it is negligible.
