I wonder if this was an "honour" killing?

That's a myth, an urban legend... "honour" killings do not exist.

This clearly shows how Canada is soft on crime.

Not how I think of it. The woman wasn't adulterous, they were living a very Western style life (both working as teachers) It was domestic violence, pure and simple. His Punjabi culture may have played a role, but it's not as if we don't get white Canadians killing their spouses either. Sorta shows what's wrong with all the fuss about honor killings. Killing is killing and we already have laws against it.

I'm getting real tired of our judicial system calling these "life sentences" they freak'n aren't.

He'll be on parole for the rest of his life. This isn't a career criminal, I doubt if he's going to re-offend. I have no problem with him getting out, but want the parole systems to be a lot more effective and involved in this guy's life. Any little hiccup and back in he goes.

You are absolutely correct there is no such thing as an "honour killing". Killing is killing whatever their ethnic background.
