Troubled soul singer Amy Winehouse, who has been attempting a comeback after a few years battling drug and alcohol addiction, has been found dead in her London home, according to British media reports.
"desertdude" said Sure don't make rocknrolla's ( no offence to rock and roll ) like they use to. Look at Osbourne and Richards, years of lickin' and still tickin'
Anyways 27 is waaay to young for anyone to leave this earth. Hopefully she is in a better place now. Condolences to the father and family.
RIP Winehouse.

Never knowingly heard her work, but sad to hear. Talent and Fame has a way that all too often destroys those that achieve it. Perhaps it's not that simple and she was heading down that path regardless, but either way it's sad.
She sounds a lot like Lauryn Hill. She may have been a druggie, but there were/are a lot of addicts who are seen as talents, and awesome musicians. Herman Brood comes to mind...

...and a lot in the past who have left us.
Besides, I don't know of any musical artist who was/is universally loved by everybody. I don't like Bruce Springstein or U2. I'll never say they have no talent though, too many people love them for me to say that.
Herman Brood jumped off the Amsterdam Hilton hotel 10 years ago, depressed because he was not able to kick his addiction(s). He lived "Sex, drugs & Rock 'n Roll". And no, I was not a fan. Not of his music, nor of his art. Lots were tho...
I hope you can find the peace you couldn't find on earth...

Methinks she is in good company...
Too bad, I would have loved to see more music come out of Amy.
RIP
So much talent... but what a train wreck.

Talent?
She was a junkie hack.
Unfortunately, now we have weeks to hear about how much of a musical genius she was and that she had so much "talent".
Barf.
