The Vancouver Police Department is recommending an end to large public events that attract the "hooligan demographic" in the wake of the Stanley Cup riot.
"Gunnair" said Retards. Vancouverites should show the same passion for exacting social media justice on the VPD leadership and planning as they did on the rioters.
Wow. Yet when I say the police need to take responsibility for their role in the riot, you accuse me of blaming the police.
It's actually not only chief Chu - mayor Robertson and premier Clark also need to carry the can on this one. Robertson for being naive and Clark for not ponying up some money to help pay for this.
We don't need social media justice for these people because we have something much better. They're called elections. And if Chu keeps up with his line that there was no way to predict a riot, maybe it's time for him to go - that's just stupid. Too bad, because he's been good in other ways.

When you place the preponderance of the blame on the police and not the rioters, then yeah, you're taken to task. The police deserve a thrashing... full stop, but the rioters deserve so much more.
Except I didn't - that's just in your mind - you have to make an argument out of everything I write. The blame for rioting rests on the rioters. The blame for responding to the riot rests on the police and elected officials. It's really not that difficult.

Nope, yet you focus on the police. The rioters are secondary...

Sure. The police are public officials and will respond to public pressure to improve. Venting your spleen at the rioters is fun and all, but doesn't actually make for any changes. I don't expect any better from the dickheads, I do from the police and elected officials. If they can't handle that burden they should quit.
What a joke. The mayor and police department fuck up and they want to stop all events in Vancouver just because they're incompetent.
Hell, might as well close all schools too.
How do they plan to do this exactly anyway? Are they going to ban all young men in BC from going anywhere?
That would send the violent crime rate to zero.

That's where you and I differ.

Why stop there? Close all convenience stores to help stem robberies too! A ban on cars would stop drunk driving.
Tens of thousands drive downtown everyday to their Jobs. Ban Jobs!
Ah man, this is easy, anyone could be Police Chief!
