OTTAWA � Talk of a potential party merger between the federal New Democrats and Liberals is getting a cool reception from Canadian voters, according to a new poll.

Under our system, all we need is a plurality to ensure the Conservatives stay where they are.

Maybe next time the majority should actually vote?

As for the merger, well...mergers of political convenience without substantial ideological similarity won't last very long.
