Stay classy, liberals.
Is that what people refer to as an "oxymoron"?
We seem to be up to our armpits in kooks.
I'm looking at the posts underneath the article and a fair number of them think that they know better than Laureen Harper what causes she should choose to support ... all of which, of course, is none of their business.

The lefties that post at the bottom of the CBC forums are all nuts.
I'm sure Centre has 14 user names over there.

I vote to send out search parties into the alleyways with sardines, we could make it an involuntary part of the school curriculum. What do you guys think? I know this issue has been done to death. The cuddly cat gymnastic videos are cool but it doesn't get to the heart of the issue.
We need more funding.
If you are going to politicize yourself you kind of leave yourself open to scrutiny. I agree it was out of line to interrupt but goes with the territory when you support a political cause. In my opinion there are more important issues that she could bring attention to. People are not to be allowed to be critical because she is the PM's wife ?
So a festival for cat videos is a political cause?
This was just another rude POS who looked for a little attention. The only "political" part of this was the rude person who obviously doesn't like the CPC or Stephen Harper.

You are mixing apples and orangutans. Lauren is talking about feral cats. Some stranger comes along and says: You are wrong, Laureen. "Why aren't you talking about missing aboriginal women?" Well, for that matter, why isn't she talking about fresh water for the Sahel or stopping the Japanese whale hunt? The seas are about to run out of fish. That is far more serious than missing aboriginal women. Why isn't Laureen taking about that?
Laureen is doing feral cats this week. The conference was about feral cats. If you don't give a fig about feral cats, skip the event and attend the one that appeals to you.
The video festival was held to raise money for the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies.

^^^^ Proof that blind partisanship is a form of brain damage. Tell us, how the hell are cats a political issue?
Yes it helps raise money for a cause and people benefit from those funds so I would argue that it is somewhat political.

So you and the protester are against helping cats? By your definition, every charity is political, something they are specifically barred from doing. I don't care much about feral cats, I don't care much about aboriginal women as a specific subset of missing and murdered women and men of all races. It would never occur to me to go to a missing aboriginal women event and protest that they they shouldn't be so racist and sexist and should worry about all missing and murdered people.
I'm no fan of Harper's. I like some things he did, but with his attempt to subvert democracy with this election bill, no way I would vote for him. That doesn't mean I carry it over to going after his wife. The Cons are real good at dirty politics and smearing people - no need to follow their lead.
