Vancouver police spent 11 hours in a standoff with an empty house Monday, after an unidentified man reportedly brandishing an axe escaped unnoticed out the back door.

Well done guys. Now there's some maniac running around the streets of Vancouver with an axe and inflated sense of invulnerability.

I guess nobody thought to cordon off the area before they tried to make contact with this guy.
