A street performer dressed as Spider-Man in New York City's Times Square was arrested after punching a police officer who scolded him for demanding more money from a couple he had posed with for a picture, police said on Sunday.
The web-slinging deadbeat from Brooklyn allegedly tried to shake down tourists for $10 a picture just before 2 p.m. Saturday and was caught on camera slugging Officer Eduardo Molina who had confronted the superhero about the ridiculous prices at least twice before he was cuffed.
So let me get this straight. In NYC you're allowed to shake down tourist's as long as you don't overcharge while extorting them. Strange since I always thought extortion was a criminal offence.
My guess is that if this story is true Officer Molina only got pissed when Spidey wouldn't give him his cut.
Well done Mayor de Blasio your police force is still living up to it's stellar 1960's Mayor Lindsay standards for police enforcement.
