Reaching out to talk with Muslim youth who are at risk of being radicalized isn't enough to stop it from happening, say parents, clerics and police.

Not a big fan of Sowarhardy myself, but I agree with the idea of a priority of search and destroy the radicalizers.

    So what to do?

There's an idea from the actual for real moderate muslims like Tarek Fatah. The sneaky Dawaists like Sowarhardy don't like it.

Is says what is required is a broader reform within Islam itself dealing with the way it's taught. Those who have an Islam that can cooperate with western values can be encouraged. Those who don't are discouraged.

Why wouldn't Muslim Brotherhood, style, soft jihadis like Sowarhardy qualify as cooperative?

The last thing the Calgary police would want to do is create a kind of lock hands, Koombayah policy with Sowarhardy and his ilk.

It weakens the ability to act independent of the Dawaist will, which is a soft jihad of a self-select group of Islam elite.

After reading this part of the article I may have become his biggest fan. :P

A prominent Calgary imam, Syed Soharwardy of the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada, recently declared that many Muslims should go back to their Muslim-majority homelands.

It is against Islam, he said, for Muslims to migrate to non-Muslim countries for the purpose of economic betterment.

But his enlightened statement begs the question. Why the fuck is he still here? ROTFL
