Alberta's energy regulator says a significant earthquake in the province last week was likely caused by hydraulic fracturing. Scientists say that if that's true, it will have been the largest earthquake ever to happen as a result of an industrial operatio
So why does CBC make that leap from a possibility into a certainty? Is it for activists to convince people who refuse to actually read the article that fracking is evil.
CBC does appear to have joined the anti-fracking, activist, brigade.
It's unfortunate CBC is afraid to give you an in depth interview with a scientist as to what exactly the connection is that they believe can be made between some earthquakes and some fracking operations.
Not to worry. There's always Glenn Beck.
Diss him as you will, but in this case he'll let you hear the stuff CBC doesn't want you to know about.
So basically frackquakes rare, require existing fault lines and only happen during certain times of the day.
Also he doesn't mention it, but the ones detected so far are more in the range of what you might feel alongside a highway if a large truck passed.
They use a headline to tweak interest and curiosity. Seems to have worked well in your case.
Well yeah, cause I'm a critic.
More old school though. Not like these other guys I see on here.
The way I learned it you should actually read the thing you're going to criticize.
Kinda sucks though. Means I can't just believe CBC sucks. I have to actually read their crap. (Not to mention, pay for it.
Click bait titles from the CBC... why do I even bother paying my taxes to fund them?

Actually you don't.

I don't what? Believe CBC sucks? Yeah I do.
Fox Creek only had a 4.4? It would take a way bigger quake to erase Fox creek from the collective consciousness of all who have been cursed by either spending time there or even passing through. Come on boys, we need another 100 pumpers going, lets get an 8.4 next time....
Had the misfortune of working there ONCE, thankfully it was only a 2 day job and have never returned.
