Islamic State militants are planning a takeover of Libya as a "gateway" to wage war across the whole of southern Europe, letters written by the group's supporters have revealed.

ISIS threatens to send 500,000 migrants to Europe as a 'psychological weapon' in chilling echo of Gaddafi's prophecy that the Mediterranean 'will become a sea of chaos'

"ISIS has threatened to flood Europe with half a million migrants from Libya in a 'psychological' attack against the West, it was claimed today.

Transcripts of telephone intercepts published in Italy claim to provide evidence that ISIS is threatening to send 500,000 migrants simultaneously out to sea in hundreds of boats in a 'psychological weapon' against Europe if there is military intervention against them in Libya.

Many would be at risk of drowning with rescue services unable to cope. But authorities fear that if numbers on this scale arrived, European cities could witness riots.

Separately, the militants hope to cement their control of Libya then cross the Mediterranean disguised as refugees, according to letters seen by Quilliam the anti-terror group, reported by the Telegraph. "

Italy: Isis could merge with Libya militias

UPDATED: Italy on Wednesday issued its strongest warning yet about the danger of the Islamic State group establishing a stronghold in Libya from where it could attack Europe and destabilise neighbouring states.

Addressing parliament, Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni also outlined Italy's readiness to play a leading role in de-arming and rebuilding its former colony in the event of a UN-brokered cease-fire in a conflict that has plagued Libya since the 2011 Western-backed overthrow of Moamer Khadafi.

Gentiloni said there was a serious danger of Isis fighters forging an alliance with local militias or criminal gangs currently engaged in a multi-sided battle for control of Libya.

You're such a cynic. Why would you doubt them?

Oh noes. Merge with Libyan militias? Not bloodly likely. Prior to western involvement in Syria, ISIS and other Sunni extremist groups were busy wiping each other off the map. Which suited me. Unfortunately, they had to persecute the Yazidi and the Kurds and the Christians so we had to go in to protect them, but the unhpapy offshoot of that plan is creating a common enemy for the Sunnis.

There's some truth there, but I'm not sure how much.

Yes, the Syrian rebellion had multiple sects of Jihadis jostling for who was going to be boss hog.

But you seem to be missing the part where ISIS was winning that contest. They were emerging as the power merchants before the Yazidis.

They had their internet marketing campaign of proselytizing before Obombya started his campaign of droning Toyota pickup trucks.

And now you hear voices in Boko Harram and even the Taliban thinking of joining the Caliphate. Now you want to say forget about the Chicken, it's the egg.

Me I'm not sure. Al Qaida guys have always been swinging in and out - Al Nusra to ISIS. Do we call the operatives who took down the American embassy in Benghazi (which is when the Americans should have began their attacks) ISIS or Al Qaida? I'm not sure.

But hey, if you really want to attach blame to Obungles...

Who am I to argue.

Sending a force to invade a NATO member seems like a great way to end the ISIS suicide cult.

It will never work anyway; Patton's already dead.

Nothing like spending a few million dollars to destroy maybe $100,000 worth of hardware.

Plus the Muslim in the Whitehouse...

has sluffed off the military types in command to be replaced by Progressive bureaucrats.

In general he's done, or is doing to the American military what Daddy Trudeau did to Canada's. So there's that.

Obama eviscerated the Secret Service, too. He put a lesbian feminist in charge of it and was then SHOCKED!! when the Presidential Detail was utterly incapable of preventing some guy with a knife from running into the White Hut.

But when faced with standing up for gender equality and lesbian rights over his own personal safety what did Obama do?

That's right. He brought in a capable heterosexual Christian white guy to run the Secret Service.

That straight-shooting think-from-the-gut conservative tough guy ignored all of his intelligence briefings for his first eight months in office and as a result 3000 people died when terrorists flew jetliners into office towers and government buildings. Then he invaded a country that had zero to do with the original terrorist attack on the US, knocked off the tyrant in charge that turned out to be the only one capable of controlling the local loonies, and installed a Potemkin village of a civilian government that pretty much collapsed when the next wave of loonies made their appearance. Then he also decided to piss off the Russians and forever lose their assistance in the anti-terrorist struggle by encouraging the shitty little irrelevant countries in the area to pick unwinnable fights and confrontations with Moscow. And at the same time he unleashed any remaining restraints on his pals on Wall Street, which resulted in things like the Enron looting of the utility systems in California and Texas, caused a massive wave of price increases that cost hundreds of thousands of Americans their health insurance that they could no longer afford to buy, actually managed to accelerate American job losses by making it even easier to shut down factories and manufacturing plants in order to set up shop in slave-labour markets overseas, and set all the dominoes in place that when they finished falling resulted in the destruction of the US housing/mortgage market and nearly triggered a second world-wide Great Depression. Other highlights of the shoot-from-the-hip's reign of power include allowing oil companies not to divulge what toxic chemicals they use in fracking operations as they contaminate local water tables, his first defense secretary deliberately preventing the Louisiana National Guard from entering New Orleans to stop the wave of violence and looting that erupted after the city was hit by a hurricane, staffing the FEMA offices with incompetents that were completely incapable of sending any meaningful aid into New Orleans for over a week after the hurricane struck, cutting the taxes of the already wealthy to the point that over $3 trillion has been permanently removed from government revenues, and giving the troops in Iraq woefully underprotected vehicles to use that pretty much ensured that more of them would be killed in IED and RPG attacks.

Just trying to put a scale out there so folks can understand that some sins and fuck ups are decidedly worse than others.

I'm calling Shens and being amused by the incoherent ramblings of someone whose list of Obama mock names includes "Obombya" when Bombing the Fear du jour is what Obama is doing and what the mocker actually wants.

Most people can recognize when they've fallen off the cliff....

    You're a mocker, Sandy mocks.

Very well, if those are the rules...

Yes, Three Word Sandra, and congratulations on how good you're getting at constructing full sentences lately. Good for you. But the adults are talking war now. You know you don't like that. It gives you the scary dreams. Off to your room now. You're dollies are waiting. Scoot.
