Weather-related challenges will no doubt face many of the 25,000 Syrian refugees the federal government has committed to bring to Canada by early next year.

So I'm assuming they are worreid about dying if they stayed home but....maybe if its cold its worth the risk?

I think they are saying that Canada isn't an Equatorial Nation.

Hell, going to Fort MacMurray after growing up in South BC is a major shock.

That's what I've heard from all my friends who have moved there. You never get used to the extreme cold. Which I can understand as Im still not used to extreme heat of this place. And I've been here forever!

The refugees might not like the cold but the warmth of a welfare cheque should help them get over it.
