An Ottawa man who has taught Sunday school to children was charged with human trafficking after police say he sexually exploited a 15-year-old girl.
Russett confirmed that the man has been involved with the church for the past five years, and that the man's wife is the childrens' pastor at the church.
"ShepherdsDog" said Misleading headline in a way. If you read the story they say he wasn't really overly involved, and that his wife was the Children's pastor.
I highly doubt that it was his religious beliefs that motivated him to commit his crimes. Insinuating that makes you the other side of Fiddle's wooden nickel.

Funny, you never say that when FD and his cohorts spew their stuff. You seem like part of the wooden nickel brigade yourself.

Quite the double-standard you're looking to impose here.

Cite the passage in the Bible or quote a Christian leader (just one!) who says that Christian men can molest teenage girls.
If you can then you're right that there's a double standard. If not then man up and admit you're wrong.

How am I imposing a double standard? I've condemned atrocities committed by extremists who use their religion to justify their atrocities.

I suspect that if the person was anything other than a Christian, your tune would be different. If not, I apologize.

I've never read the Bible. Wouldn't waste my time.
Even if there is no passage in there about this specifically, I'd be even more concerned. Despite not being told do commit such acts, they are commonplace in the church.
Pretty desperate to set up a false equivalency there, CBC and OtI.
I would guess the fact this guy was caught with cocaine would have more to do with his pimping (if that's even what it turns out to be) than however many times he might have taught a Sunday school class.
John W Gacy used to dress up as a clown to perform at children's parties, but it wasn't his clown ideology that initiated a mindset encouraging, authorizing or excusing his child killing.
It just made it easier to exploit his pose as a magician to trick his victims into handcuffs.
A criminal can exploit the culture. It's not the same thing as when the culture exploits the criminal. Mohammed was a raping, slaving pedophile and his religion presents him as the perfect example.

Not 'overly' involved? That makes it all better.
This has nothing to do with Christianity.
Given that nothing in Christianity says he has a right to do this you're right.

Then why do you defend the Koran without having read it?
Isn't that a double standard?

Where have I defended the Koran?
Does pointing out the misdeeds of Christians count as 'defending' the Koran?
