I think you're too stupid. She didn't say people are too white, she said the party is too white. In Canada that means you'll have a problem getting a majority. Harper perfected the sucking up to minorities during his reign, the Libs are naturals at it, so the NDP is going to have to play that game as well.

Can only speak for what I know in BC: ethnic Chinese NDP members do not come anywhere near the numbers in the general population. East Indian numbers are much closer. Up north here Natives are predominantly NDP.
But NDP numbers in BC are proportionately higher than in the ROC and I have absolutely no knowledge of any ethnic group elsewhere in Canada that is as big as Chinese is here.

I'd like if we didn't need to use terms like that at all. Who cares if a party is mostly white? The people politicians serve all have the same basic needs. The only difference I can think of between different races would be cultural. Some may call that racist, but it's a fact of life. For this reason, a party needs some representation from these races, but i think trying to be fully proportional to the population is ridiculous. Same goes for police, firefighters, etc.

I think the point is that the NDP isn't reflecting the present day makeup of the country.

And honestly why should it? Can I use the entire "diversity" bullshit to avoid being arrested by anything other than a white police officer? Should medical schools pass only those who reflect the diversity of the community they will practice in?
