Anarchist groups have threatened to shut down Republican Donald Trump's swearing-in as U.S. president, but police in Washington said on Friday they believe the thousands of security officers assigned to the event will be able to head off any disruption.

You talk about making the elites afraid, Fiddle, well, let's give it a try.

Force them to do it indoors this year.

    I don't know what you're talking about.

I am pretty sure you and me don't agree on who the elites are though.

Mine includes those with unjust hierarchal control over the lives of others.

(That includes your rich Republican fuckbois btw)

"Includes" or "is"? See because I keep getting the impression that for you it's the latter.

Now for me it's more like this:

There's this quote incorrectly attributed to Voltaire it goes something like "To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticise"

I've heard the guys over on your side of the spectrum get quite upset by the fact people keep quoting that. Let's guess why.

See, to me money doesn't necessarily make a powerful elite. Power can sometimes make the elite rich though.

The tools of the modern elite would be stuff like Political Correctness, Social Justice Warring or Identity Politics, not their cash. The elite are the ones telling you what you can or cannot say or do.

It's more about running the culture, values, administration, education and such of a society than it is about the cash for me.

When I'm talking about the current elite that's who I'm talking about. Maybe the elite will be Trump and those allied to him some day soon, but it's not yet.

I thought I explained (in fact, I know I did.) It's not a Voltaire quote. People incorrectly attribute it to him. That tangential flaw is what your side usually use to justify vilifying it. Catch up. You won't sound so crazy when you're pulling your hair out about it. Grab some rational. True it's not good rational, but at least it's something that sounds a bit like reason.

In the meantime I think it's clear I am correct when I say we see the elite different. For you the priority is the capital (as in capitalist). For me the priority is the power. That's what defines the elite.

Oh and I see I was editing as you posted. I edited out the list of liberal elites you mentioned to replace it with a more clear impression of what I was calling elite.

It wasn't even Voltaire that said it. It was some white guy who ended up doing time for possession of kiddie porn.

And here's the third time I said it.

I sometimes wonder how many times one has to say a thing before it becomes convenient to admit it's there.

BTW Thanos on the kiddie porn thing - link please. :)

"To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticise"

Means the ones that will toss you in jail, not the guy next door who will punch you in the head for criticizing him.
99% of assholes are not elites. Not the assholes who support Trump just because he's an asshole too. They just like assholes. Just the 1% who are billionaire celebrity assholes who fooled them into thinking they're not elites and assholiness will cure dick shit are.
But I'll admit, by today's standards I am an elite. I mean 2 clues are I can read the analog clock on the kitchen wall and there's no weather app on my computer or cellphone because I'm sitting at a window or outside when I use it. Don't need any money fame.

    Scared eh?

There are theories where that quote first appeared. Nobody knows for sure.

That doesn't mean the quote doesn't have power.

The fact the left gets so exited about it shows it's a legitimate shitkicker.
